The Canon Pixma TS5050 can do more than just print: Thanks to the scanner, documents and photos can also be digitized and transferred to a PC. You can also copy pictures and documents - without even turning on the PC. The Pixma TS5050 also has a card reader where a memory card, for example from a camera, can be inserted. Images that are archived at the data operator appear on the 7.5-centimeter touch screen. If desired, the user could, for example, use it to select his vacation photos, which he then printed immediately. Also great: thanks to the built-in WLAN module, you can wirelessly connect the Pixma TS5050 to the router if you want.

With the printing function, all frequently used functions are included. Duplex printing is also available, as is the borderless printing option. The integrated flatbed scanner also does its job perfectly. Documents are scanned at resolutions up to 1,200 x 1,400 dpi.

Print speed

For a multifunction printer at home, the Canan Pixma TS5050 is fast enough. In black and white mode, the device manages nearly 13 pages per minute. With color printing, 9 pages per minute is still achieved. The print resolution is more than okay at 4,800 x 1,200 dpi.

Color printing 

The printing unit also does a good job with color printing. The graph looks clean on paper. Colors reproduced well, but according to tests they tended to be too bright. Details are always recognizable. In the black and white photo, a slight blue tinge envelops the photo.

Copy & scan

The TS5050 provides you high definition scans for text documents. However, with color documents, the garnet is reproduced slightly incorrectly. With a live copy, if you take a closer look, you can see the frayed letters, but the quality is still good. The colored copy is blotchy in gray areas and there's a problem with hues of red here too.
